Senior's Ministry
Our Senior Ministry is a vital part of our Church. Here you see a group of them playing dominos. Joyce Wade, the "Minister of Senior Ministries," sees that they are involved and productive (she is the one looking over her shoulder with a big smile). They are a great group of experienced Christians. They make a difference in our Church and community.
Many precious people reach retirement and find themselves pushed to the side. One problem is that most people are working while they are at home alone. We feel that the greatest loss to our Church, in resources, would be the loss of great wisdom and experience. We do consider our seniors as a vital and effective part of our Church.
Our Senior Ministry is designed to introduce a person to the ministry at an age before retirement (50). This allows a person to develop relationships that will help them assume a more active role after they retire. Our seniors are a busy and dedicated bunch. With monthly spiritual dinner meetings (Friday nights), weekly game and fellowship lunches, and activities are a few of the areas that our seniors are involved in.
It is inspiring to see how our seniors care for each other with phone calls, visits, prayer, and assistance for the impaired. We are so blessed by a wonderful group of seniors.
